It was so good to see Charles Ilsley recognised in Other lives. Around midnight 16 years ago, I suffered a major heart attack and was sent to Harefield hospital, west London, where I immediately had two stents placed, thanks to Harefield’s 24-hour primary angioplasty service, developed by Ilsley, its clinical director. Hours later, I was sitting up in bed reading the Observer.
